Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Complete work
  2. Plan and prepare for work
  3. Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, legislative requirements, industry standards, codes of practice, manufacturers’ specifications, environmental obligations and workplace procedures are reviewed for work preparation
  4. Resources are obtained and inspected, in accordance with workplace procedures for compliance with job specifications
  5. Relevant plans, drawings and manuals are selected and interpreted, in accordance with workplace procedures
  6. Correct materials and components for work are obtained and inspected, in accordance with workplace procedures, for compliance with job specification
  7. Work is planned, sequenced and prioritised, in accordance with workplace procedures
  8. Potential hazards are identified and risk control measures are selected and implemented, in accordance with workplace procedures
  9. Work area is prepared, in accordance with workplace procedures
  10. Maintain fixed fire protection systems
  11. Faulty components are repaired or overhauled, in accordance with workplace procedures and fire protection system requirements
  12. Replacement equipment or items are inspected, in accordance with workplace procedures, to confirm compliance with fire protection system specifications
  13. Modifications or alterations are undertaken, in accordance with workplace procedures and fire protection system requirements
  14. Maintenance is performed, in accordance with workplace procedures and fire protection system requirements
  15. Conduct in service testing
  16. In-service testing is carried out, in accordance with relevant statutory regulations

  19. Tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained and stored, in accordance with workplace procedures
  20. Work completion details are finalised, in accordance with workplace procedures
